Why Paver Sealing is Essential in Southwest Florida

Unsealed pavers in Cape Coral and Fort Myers take a beating. Between Florida’s relentless UV, 85% humidity, sudden downpours, pool chlorine, and sandy joint erosion, untreated pavers fade, shift, and grow weeds within 12–18 months. Professional paver sealing is the single most effective protection you can add — and the single most dramatic visual upgrade for your driveway, lanai, or pool deck.

At Pool Armor Pros we seal pavers with a focused, professional lineup: Trident Hurricane Cat 5 for satin and high-gloss/wet-look finishes, and Trident Hurricane Cyclone for a true dead-flat matte. You choose the finish; we handle the wash, the fresh Trident joint-sand top-off, and the seal. Every job is priced all-in — sealer and sand included, with no surprise material charges.

Six Reasons SWFL Homeowners Choose to Seal

🛡️ UV & Heat Protection

Blocks Florida UV that fades paver color in as little as 12 months. Sealed pavers keep their tone for years.

💧 Stain Resistance

Repels oil, pool chemicals, rust, grease, food spills, and hard-water calcium. Cleanup becomes effortless.

🌱 Weed & Ant Prevention

Stabilizes the fresh joint sand. Stops weeds, grass, and ant colonies from taking over your driveway and lanai.

✨ Your Choice of Finish

Satin to keep it understated, wet-look for a rich pop, or true matte for a natural no-shine look — your call.

🏠 Resale Value

Sealed pavers consistently show better during home listings in Cape Coral & Fort Myers.

💰 Lower Long-Term Cost

Prevents structural paver issues that cost thousands to repair. Sealing is the cheapest paver insurance available.

Already-sealed pavers that need the old sealer stripped first? Our Strip, Wash, Sand Top-Off & Seal is $2.65/sq ft (Cat 5 base; true-matte strip is $2.85/sq ft). That covers up to two rounds of stripper; each additional round is +$1.00/sq ft. If your pavers hold a sound existing seal, you don’t need this — a standard re-seal is fine.

Bare Concrete Sealing

Not pavers? We also seal bare concrete — driveways, walkways, sidewalks, and uncovered pool decks — with the same Trident Hurricane Cat 5 sealer. No joint-sand step: just a thorough wash and seal.

Service Scope Rate / sq ft
Wash & SealPressure wash + Cat 5 protective seal (no joint sand)$1.45 ($500 min)
Strip, Wash & SealPreviously-sealed concrete — strips failed sealer, then wash & seal$2.45
  • Helps block water intrusion, oil, and stain absorption while adding UV protection.
  • Strip = +$1.00/sq ft over the seal rate (covers up to two stripper rounds; additional rounds +$1.00/sq ft).
  • SharkGrip anti-slip additive included on pool decks & lanais.

Already have an epoxy floor? A sealer can’t go over existing epoxy — it must be mechanically ground off first. If you want a decorative flake finish instead of a clear seal, see our Epoxy Flooring page.

Choose Your Finish

Same all-in service — you decide how it looks.

True matte is only available on Cyclone — Cat 5 can’t produce a true dead-flat finish. Cyclone is a ready-to-use, joint-stabilizing 1-coat sealer for paver surfaces; Cat 5 is diluted to set the finish (D2 satin / D1 gloss).

Our 5-Step Sealing Process

Proper prep is what makes a seal last. Here’s how every job runs.

Deep Clean

Full pressure wash to strip algae, stains, oxidation, and old loose joint sand from the surface and joints.

Repair & Reset

Any lifted or sunken pavers reset, and the field checked so the surface is sound before sand and sealer go down.

Trident Joint-Sand Top-Off

Fresh Trident joint sand swept to full depth in your color — the foundation the sealer stabilizes.

Seal to Your Finish

Cat 5 (satin/gloss, two-coat) or Cyclone (true matte, one-coat RTU), with SharkGrip anti-slip on pool decks & lanais.

Cure & Inspect

Proper cure window, final walkthrough, and before/after photos uploaded to your customer portal.

Cure Times & Aftercare

A fresh seal needs a dry, undisturbed window to cure hard and clear. We plan every installation around the forecast — sealing only when no rain is expected — and a little patience right afterward is what locks in a flawless, long-lasting finish.

💧 Please turn your sprinklers off. Irrigation overspray is the number-one cause of a ruined cure. Shut your sprinkler system off before we arrive and leave it off for a minimum of 24 hours so no water reaches the surface while the sealer sets.

24 hrsstay dry

Keep the surface completely dry — no rain, no sprinklers — for a full 24 hours. Light foot traffic is OK after 24 hours.

48 hrsfurniture

Wait 48 hours before moving furniture, planters, grills, or décor back onto the sealed surface.

72 hrsvehicles

Wait at least 72 hours before parking or driving vehicles on a freshly sealed driveway.

21 daysfull cure

The sealer keeps hardening after you’re back to normal use — it can take up to 21 days to reach its maximum permanent cure. Everyday use during this window is fine; just avoid harsh scrubbing or strong chemicals.

🍂 Fall is the ideal time to seal in SWFL

We recommend scheduling paver and concrete sealing for the fall, when humidity drops and the daily afternoon storms taper off — the conditions that produce the cleanest, most reliable cure. Summer sealing can absolutely be done, but Southwest Florida’s high summer humidity and pop-up afternoon rain bring a greater risk of a failed application or a milky, bubbly finish. If we do seal in summer, we watch the forecast closely and pick the driest window we can.

Paver Sealing FAQ

What SWFL homeowners ask most before booking.

How much does paver sealing cost in Cape Coral?
Paver sealing is priced all-in with the sealer and joint-sand top-off included, and you simply choose your finish. Satin or high-gloss/wet-look is $1.65/sq ft (Trident Cat 5); true matte is $1.85/sq ft (Trident Cyclone). $450 minimum. Previously-sealed pavers that need stripping first are handled as Strip, Wash, Sand Top-Off & Seal at $2.65/sq ft. À-la-carte options: paver cleaning $0.30/sq ft ($135 min), Trident sand top-off $0.70/sq ft ($225 min), or wash + re-sand $0.90/sq ft ($250 min).
What finishes can I choose from?
Three: Satin (soft, low-sheen), High-Gloss / Wet-Look (rich color pop with glossy depth) — both on our Trident Cat 5 sealer at $1.65/sq ft — and True Matte (dead-flat, zero sheen, natural) on Trident Cyclone at $1.85/sq ft. Satin and gloss come from diluting Cat 5 (D2 vs D1); true matte is only achievable with Cyclone. We’ll show you samples so you can pick with confidence.
Is the sealer really included in the price?
Yes. Our per-square-foot price is all-in — it includes the pressure wash, a fresh Trident joint-sand top-off, and the sealer itself. There’s no separate material charge tacked on later. The only add-ons are stripping an existing failed sealer ($2.65/sq ft strip-and-seal) or extra stripper rounds on heavily built-up surfaces.
How long does paver sealing last?
In SWFL, a Cat 5 satin or gloss seal typically lasts 3–5 years before a maintenance re-seal; a Cyclone true-matte seal runs 2–3 years. Life depends on sun exposure, traffic, and whether the surface gets pressure washed often. A quick maintenance re-seal down the road costs less than a first-time seal because the prep is lighter.
How long before I can use my pavers after sealing?
Plan for a dry curing window — we schedule your seal when no rain is forecast, and we ask that you turn off your sprinklers and leave them off for at least 24 hours so there’s no overspray on the fresh seal. General timeline: keep the surface completely dry for 24 hours, light foot traffic after 24 hours, furniture back after 48 hours, and vehicles on a sealed driveway after at least 72 hours. The sealer keeps hardening after that and can take up to 21 days to reach its maximum permanent cure — everyday use during that window is fine. We recommend sealing in the fall, when lower humidity and fewer afternoon storms give the most reliable cure; summer sealing is possible but carries a higher risk of a milky or bubbly finish from humidity and surprise rain.
Do you seal around pools and on lanais?
Yes — pool decks and lanais are our most common paver-sealing jobs. On those surfaces we include a SharkGrip anti-slip additive at no extra charge so the sealed surface stays safe for bare feet. True matte (Cyclone) is especially popular around pools for its natural, no-glare look.
Do you seal bare concrete driveways, or just pavers?
Both. Bare concrete — driveways, walkways, sidewalks, and uncovered pool decks — is sealed with the same Trident Cat 5 at $1.45/sq ft, $500 minimum (wash & seal, no joint sand). Previously-sealed concrete that needs stripping is $2.45/sq ft. See the Bare Concrete Sealing section above for details. Note: a sealer can’t go over an existing epoxy floor — that must be ground off first.
Do I need to re-sand before sealing?
A fresh Trident joint-sand top-off is already included in every paver sealing job, so you don’t book it separately. If your joints are severely washed out or you just want re-sanding without a seal, we offer that standalone — see our Paver Re-Sanding page (from $225). All joint sand is Trident sand, available in six colors.
Do you offer paver sealing in Fort Myers and Naples?
Yes. Pool Armor Pros provides paver and concrete sealing across all of SWFL including Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Sanibel, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, and North Port. Bundle 3+ services and save 10%.
