Why Paver Joints Need Fresh Sand
The sand packed between your pavers isn’t just cosmetic — it’s structural. It holds each paver in position, spreads load, and keeps the field tight so nothing shifts underfoot or under tires. In Southwest Florida, that joint sand erodes fast: pressure washing, heavy rain, irrigation runoff, and everyday traffic wash it out, leaving open gaps.
Once the joints empty out, pavers start to rock and settle unevenly, weeds and ants move into the gaps, and standing water works its way under the field. Paver re-sanding refills those joints with fresh Trident joint sand, re-locks the field, and restores a clean, uniform look — and it’s the required first step before any paver seal. Below are our standalone re-sanding options; if you’re also sealing, the joint-sand top-off is already included in our paver sealing price.
Paver Cleaning & Re-Sanding Pricing
Standalone service trips — sand only, no sealer. All joint sand is Trident sand, available in six colors. Final price is based on square footage and joint condition.
Budgeted at roughly 3 × 50 lb bags per 1,000 sq ft at the top-off rate. Heavy washout or deep joints use more sand and may price as a full restoration.
Trident Sand — Six Color Options
Your joint-sand color is included — match your existing pavers or change the whole look.
Re-sanding and sealing? Don’t book the top-off separately — a fresh Trident joint-sand top-off is already included in our paver sealing price ($1.65/sq ft satin or wet-look with Trident Cat 5, $1.85/sq ft true matte with Trident Cyclone). Standalone re-sanding is for when you just need the joints refilled without a seal. Bundle 3+ services and save 10%.
Done to Segmental-Paving Best Practices
Joint sand is a maintenance item recognized by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) — the North American standards body for segmental concrete paving. ICPI guidance treats full, properly-compacted joints as essential to interlock, the mechanism that lets a paver field share load and resist movement. We follow that principle on every job: clean the joints, refill to the proper depth with Trident sand, and compact so the field locks back together the way it was engineered to — not just a quick surface dusting that washes out in the next storm.
Our Re-Sanding Process
Refill the joints the right way so the field locks back together — and holds.
Assess the Joints
We check joint depth, paver movement, and washout across the field, and confirm your Trident sand color.
Clean & Clear
Surface cleaned and joints cleared of debris, old loose sand, weeds, and organic growth so fresh sand seats fully.
Install Trident Sand
Fresh Trident joint sand swept into every joint to the proper depth — your color, full coverage, no thin spots.
Compact & Set
Sand worked and settled into the joints so the field re-interlocks, then excess swept clean and the surface left ready.

Re-Sand + Seal (recommended)

- Adds color, UV & stain protection
- Joint-sand top-off included in sealing — from $1.65/sq ft
