Answers for SWFL Homeowners

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear, straight-to-the-point answers about weekly service, Green-to-Clean restorations, and hurricane/storm clean-outs.

General

How often should my pool be serviced in SWFL?

Weekly service is ideal here. Our heat, sun, rain and debris make weekly balancing and cleaning the safest way to avoid algae, staining, and equipment strain.

Do you service commercial pools?

We focus on residential pools so we can offer faster response, tighter schedules, and communication tailored to homeowners.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — fully licensed & insured. Our technicians are trained in modern water chemistry and safe handling of equipment.

Weekly Cleaning

What’s included in weekly residential cleaning?

Skimming, brushing, vacuuming as needed, testing & balancing, emptying skimmer/pump baskets, and filter checks — plus a quick visual equipment check (no major repairs).

Do I need to be home during service?

No — just ensure safe access to the pool and equipment. We can provide photo updates and notes on request.

Green-to-Clean (Algae Recovery)

How long does Green-to-Clean take?

Light blooms may clear in 1–2 visits; heavy, dark green water usually takes multiple visits over a few days. We’ll keep you updated each step.

Will you fix equipment problems during Green-to-Clean?

We handle cleaning, chemistry, and filtration support. We don’t perform major repairs, but we’ll identify issues and advise next steps if anything needs attention.

Hurricane / Major Storm Clean-Outs

What should I do after a storm before you arrive?

Skim only large debris if it’s safe. Don’t run equipment if it was submerged or won’t start. Snap a few photos for insurance. Then contact us for priority scheduling.

What does a storm clean-out include?

Debris removal, vacuum-to-waste as needed, partial drain/refill if contaminated, shock/clarify, re-balance, and filter service with a safe re-start — no major repairs.

Pricing & Scheduling

How do quotes and pricing work?

We’ll provide a transparent estimate based on pool size, condition, and location. Weekly plans are flat monthly; Green-to-Clean and storm clean-outs are quoted per job.

How quickly can you start?

Most weekly services start within a few days. Green-to-Clean and storm clean-outs are prioritized — often same or next business day during season.

Trash Can Sanitation & Monthly Service

How does monthly trash can sanitation work?

We schedule your trash can sanitation on a recurring route, usually the same day or shortly after pickup. We high-pressure rinse the inside of the cans, apply a cleaning/sanitizing solution, and then rinse again so you’re not left with heavy residue. The goal is cleaner, fresher cans without you dragging a hose and brush into the driveway every month.

Is your trash can cleaning process sanitary and safe?

Yes. We use a targeted cleaning and sanitizing process designed to break down odors and bacteria inside the can. Cans are thoroughly rinsed after treatment so there isn’t leftover chemical puddling at the bottom. As with any cleaner, we recommend letting cans dry with the lid open for a short time after service.

Why choose monthly trash can service instead of a one-time cleaning?

In Florida heat, smells and bacteria come back fast. One-time cleanings help for a little while, but monthly service keeps cans under control all year instead of waiting until they’re unbearable again. It’s also easier to budget and often more affordable over time than paying higher one-time rates over and over.

Do you offer scented options for trash can cleaning?

Yes. We have a standard sanitation option focused purely on cleaning and disinfecting, and a premium scented option that adds a light, pleasant fragrance after cleaning. Both options are rinsed thoroughly; the scented upgrade is for homeowners who want cans that not only stay sanitary but also smell noticeably fresher right after service.

House Soft Washing & Fence Cleaning

What is house soft washing and how is it different from pressure washing?

House soft washing uses lower pressure and a controlled cleaning solution to gently remove dirt, algae, and mildew from siding, soffits, and trim. Traditional high-pressure washing can be too aggressive for many home exteriors and may damage paint, stucco, or caulking. Soft washing is designed to be safer on finishes while still giving you a clean, bright home.

Do you offer scented wash options for house washing?

Yes. Our standard soft wash mix focuses on cleaning and rinsing thoroughly. You can also choose a premium scented option where we add a light fragrance to the wash solution. The scent doesn’t last forever, but it makes the immediate post-cleaning experience more pleasant around entries, lanais, and seating areas.

How do you safely clean wood and vinyl fences?

For wood and vinyl fences, we use a controlled mix of cleaner and lower pressure to loosen algae, mildew, and surface dirt without chewing up the material. Vinyl usually responds well to soft washing with gentle rinsing. Wood requires a little more care; we avoid overly aggressive pressure that could raise the grain or scar the boards and instead rely on dwell time and rinse technique.

Can I choose scented options for fence washing too?

Yes. Similar to our house and trash can services, we offer a standard cleaning mix and a premium scented option for fence washing. The scented upgrade is popular around patios, pool cages, and play areas where homeowners want things to smell as fresh as they look right after a cleaning.

Paver Re-Sanding & Sealing Options

What’s the difference between your sand options for paver re-sanding?

We select sand based on your paver type, joint width, and site conditions. Standard joint sand is used on most residential installs and is designed to fill and support the joints. In some cases, we can offer different sand colors to better blend with your pavers. During your quote, we’ll look at your existing installation and recommend what makes the most sense for stability, appearance, and budget.

What is the difference between traditional joint sand and polymeric sand?

Traditional joint sand is swept into the joints to fill gaps and support the pavers. It drains well and is easy to touch up over time, but it can wash out or shift in heavy rain or high-traffic areas. Polymeric sand has special binders that harden when activated with water, helping lock the joints together, resist washout, and reduce weed growth and ant tunneling. It requires more precise prep and installation, and isn’t ideal for every application, so we’ll recommend the option that fits your paver layout, drainage, and how you use the space.

Do I need paver re-sanding before sealing?

If your joints look deep, washed out, or you feel pavers rocking under your feet, re-sanding is usually recommended before sealing. Properly filled joints support the pavers and help the finished sealed surface look even and crisp. We’ll inspect your pavers and let you know if re-sanding should be done first.

What’s the difference between your paver sealer options?

In general, you can choose between a more natural/matte look and a more enhanced “wet look.” Natural finishes offer protection with a subtle change in appearance, while wet-look products deepen the color and add more visible sheen. We’ll review options on-site based on your paver color, traffic, and how glossy you’d like them to appear.

Can you add an anti-slip additive to driveway or patio sealer?

Yes. We can mix an anti-slip additive into the sealer on driveways, walkways, lanais, and other high-traffic areas. It slightly increases texture underfoot to improve traction, especially when surfaces are wet, while still allowing the sealer to protect and enhance the surface. We’ll talk through where it’s recommended, like sloped driveways, shaded entries, or areas used by kids and older adults.

Bundling & Cost Savings

Can I bundle pool service, exterior cleaning, paver work, and trash can sanitation?

Yes. Because Pool Armor Pros handles pools, exterior pressure washing, paver re-sanding/sealing, and trash can sanitation, we can often structure your services so they share visit days or routes. That means fewer vendors at your home and a more coordinated schedule.

How does bundling services save me money?

Bundling lets us complete multiple services in fewer trips, which can reduce travel time and setup costs compared to booking everything separately. In many cases, that allows us to offer better overall pricing on combined projects like pressure washing + paver re-sanding + sealing, or pool service + trash can sanitation, versus hiring several different companies for each item.

Is there a benefit to keeping everything with one company long-term?

Yes. When the same company is caring for your pool, exterior surfaces, pavers, and cans, we get to know your property over time. That makes it easier to spot issues early, plan seasonal maintenance, and build bundled service plans that are more cost-effective than piecing everything together one last-minute job at a time.
